Peripheral aura (2023)
I have a fascination with legibility, obfuscation and disintegration. Perhaps it stems from my occasional aura migraines. I get these blurred coloured light scars around my vision which prevent me from reading for a while...
It’s frustrating (though not painful) and it reminds me of being at school and struggling to read the chalkboard or exercise book. That feeling of disorientation and fear of being left behind return to haunt me.
Maybe the words were wrong.
Maybe they had no knowledge to impart.
Maybe the greater truth is unreadable.
